This is our Saturday. My mom LOVES to do renovation. She paints, chops things up, pounds on things and watches the DIY network. That's what we're doing now. I'm helping her eat pistachios while we plan how to re-tile the kitchen floor. Georgia is watching us. She's a psycho beagle (she picks on old lady beagles) but we run and play like maniacs together.

Strange visitor
This is Zorro. He has come to visit for a week.
I don't like him. I think he plans to stay.
And he has a bone. I want that bone.
I think he's going to eat it all. Rats.
I asked Baby to help me watch him.
I will stay near him at all times. You can depend on me!
{Mom note: I told River that Zorro has a great family waiting for him in Connecticut. He just needed a place to stay to wait for when the doggie caravan could take him. Zorro is such a sweet coonhound, rescued by a family that found him starving on the road. A happy ending, just like my River. See him live here at the vet's: Zorro}

My dal sissie, SUMMER
Summer is cool. She is 10 years old and lives with all us beagles. She loves to run and run and sometimes we chase her. Summer's favorite thing is to COUNTER SURF. She pulls things off the counter everyday for us. It's terrific when she gets the pan with some bacon grease off the stove--not when it's hot. She won't touch it if it's hot. None of us gets much because we all jump on it immediately. A beagle riot! Summer loves it.
She walks around wagging her white tail like a whip. It hits us beagles right at head height and we yelp when she passes. She doesn't notice. Nothing bothers her much. She loves our mom a lot and smiles just like I do. Somebody might think it was a snarl but it's really a dalmatian happy sign.
She was rescued from a backyard breeder along with her sissie BooBoo. Here are BooBoo on the left (a very small dal, not much bigger than Faith) and Summer on the right. BooBoo was adopted out to a nice home but my mom still misses her a lot.

My newspaper cast
Here I am with my cast that the vets made from rolled up newspapers. It lasted 4 weeks--amazing. Then my foster mom (now my own mom) had to spend $150 to get a plastic cast. I am such an amazing runner that the cast never slowed me down.
But don't you feel sorry for me? I think I deserve a nice steak.

Introduction
I was rescued by a kind woman after a car hit me. I ended up in the emergency clinic called RIVER and that's how I got my name. My front leg was broken and they folded up newspapers and wrapped it up.
Meanwhile, the hospital called SOS Beagles. SOS Beagles called in a foster mom and I went home with her one day. It was rough because I was so scared. I didn't know how to behave. I growled at everybody. But it wasn't too long before all the love they were trying to show me actually helped me feel better. My foster mom loved me so much she didn't want to give me up. But she did because she thought it was best for me since she had so many beagles.
After my leg healed, I went on a long trip to a new home. My foster mom told SOS Beagles that if my first adoption didn't work out she absolutely wanted me back. Well, I must have heard that because it *really* didn't work out. I growled a lot so they moved me to another foster home to wait for a ride back to my first foster mom.
She worked hard;she called and called and sent emails and finally drove many miles to get me. I wagged my tail as soon as I saw her--it was just like I never left! And when I got to the house--I danced around wagging my tail. So happy!! I was back home. My foster mom was now my REAL mom. She cried she was so happy.
And I have been home for almost a year. Everyday my mom hugs and kisses me. She tells me I smile like Elvis, one side of my snout goes up and she thinks I'm about to say, "Thangyouverramuch". So I smile every time she says 'REEEEVER'.
