Long hot summer!

Will it never end?? This heat is terrible and it still promises to melt sneakers the rest of the week. Look at this dry yard. No mom needs to mow for a long time here.

Hi Everydoggie! We have been busy--my Mom was on vacation.

She went to visit her brother in Wisconsin and my cousins.
Shiloh who just turned one:
and Cesar who is now two:
My mom says they are very nice animals, extremely well-bred.

She visited the Biodomes:

One dome is a desert, one is tropical, one is a riverbank garden

Here's a picture of a river where my mom went to a German festival:

And look who we had come visit. This beautiful red dobie. He was such a total goofball that my mom called him Wall-EEE. And guess what??!! We found his family! He was picked up running back & forth across a highway where he would have died. He escaped their yard one day and they put up millions of color flyers for him. They gave the rescue a nice reward but the best part was finding his family.

Here I am in the hot, dry backyard.

Here is our old Miss Daisy. She will be 21 this October. My mom admits she is looking kinda ragged. The vet just diagnosed her with glaucoma and she is now blind. She gets eyedrops and tramadol. We didn't know that glaucoma can be like a migraine so we are keeping her painfree. There aren't many options for her, we are sad to say, and we are holding her close as long as we can.

Here I am inside. Whew! It's a little cooler. We can't wait for fall!

This has been a hot summer, right??
I am not a big fan of cold weather but a break would be nice!
I know you are taking very good care of Miss Daisy. Glad to know she is painfree.
Good choice being inside!
Take care

Wow!!! 21 !!!! Miss Daisy, that is awesome. Yes, that glaucoma can be incredibly painful. Mom had a pup once who eventually had both eyes removed due to glaucoma that just stopped responding to drops. It was so painful for poor Lucky. We hope Miss Daisy can spend her time in comfort and peace.

It looks like mom had a great vacation. It has been very hot here too, probably seems worse after the nice summer last year.

Hi River!

It is crazy hot here too. We are tired of the 100 degree days. Lucie just got back from vacation in Colorado so she got a break from the heat.

It looks like your mom had a great trip! Those pups look like a lot of fun. That is so cool that your mom helped to get that dobie home. Good Job Mom!

Please give Miss Daisy an extra big hug from all of us. We would be happy to share Hailey with you. She always made Lucie feel better when she was sick. You just say the word and we will pack her squeak toys and get her on the next plane to you.

Lots of Luv & Kisses
Addie, Lucie and Hailey

Hi there River,

Wow..it is hot over there. We had a spell of very hot weather awhile ago and a lot of grass here looked just like yours. We hope it cools down for you guys soon.

We are glad you found that pup and he was returned to his family. It is awful thinking what could have happened to him.

Aww, we send a hug to Miss Daisy too. :)

Hi River,
Its hot here too. Mum has been using the water from the swimming pool to keep the grass alive but parts have died off. After our morning walk we spend most of our time just lazing inside where it is cool. It looks like your mum had a great holiday.
Wow Miss Daisy is 21 - that's some life for a dog. She is obviously well cared for.
