Sunday with the Hounds

Here is some of the wind we're getting from Ike. This was a calm moment. We have mostly pines around here so the wind can be very noisy. Also we have lots of windchimes. Yes, we have a propane tank in the front yard. Yes, at least 10 hounds would be killed if the porch fell. Yes, sigh, we qualify as living rednecks even though my mom is a Yankee (check out Jeff Foxworthy's list of what makes a redneck). Then the wind stopped and the rain started. A nice gentle rain that soaked everything my mom had hanging up to dry. Life as a redneck is tough.

This is also a sad time for my mom. She grew up with Charles Chips--I'm talking 40 bazillion years of chips. She says they are the best chips ever made. They are going out of business. So, today, she opened up this huge can and spread them on the deck for us all to appreciate. Yeah, mom, they are the best chips (or like the only ones we've ever had).

Sasha and I are enjoying the last of the chips.

Natalie is such a kissy face. Who wouldn't love this girl hound?

Here is the baby mama. My mom is calling her Laci. She looks kinda crazy here. But she is a good girl, not too shy, but definitely has a problem with a hand coming from above so my mom only puts her hand underneath her chin.

Here is Miss Daisy, 18 years old. She is going in to the vet's tomorrow because her mouth smells like a sewer (I don't mind I don't understand the problem). It's been 2 years since her last teeth cleaning so we suspect something to do with a tooth. First, my mom will discuss things with the vets because Daisy is so old. She's in awfully good shape though.

Noooooooooooooo!!!!! (That's Jan yelling, in case you're wondering. She remembers Charles Chips and they were the BEST chips she's ever had.)

We hope Miss Daisy will be okay.

We've probably set a record for the shortest retirement in the history of blogging!

Good luck to Miss Daisy at the vets, we hope she gets on okay there.

We have been on holiday and are just catching up with everyones blogs. We are happy that little Graham is doing well, especially after getting pneumonia. He sounds like a right little fighter. He is a little cutie. We hope he continues to do well.

Miss Daisy is very sweet. We hope that the vet can brush her teeth to make them smell better! My old brother Sprockets mouth smells bad too. But becuae he is so old cleaning his teeth is hard.

We have a Charles chips can, but it hasn't had any chips in it for like 30 years. Mom uses it for cookies at Christmas time. Sometimes we get a few Lay's chips when our mom eats them with ice cream. She uses the ice cream as chip dip. Silly Mom!

Whadda ya mean it didn't happen? You might think, no pictures, it never happened, but we contend, no pictures, you can't prove it didn't! :)
