She's back!!

My mom's friends kidnapped her from the hospital and took her home with them on Friday then they came and took care of us. They have FIVE cats and no doggies so mom smells like a cat now.... She finally felt well enough to drive back to us. We're not allowed to jump on her stomach. Mousse is bad about that so he is staying in a crate or outside. The weather has not been too bad--mostly 80s--so we can stay outside for a while.

Here I am showing her what a good boy I am. I know it makes her feel better to rub my tummy so I'm making it very easy for her.

She goes back to the dr on Thursday to find out the results. We're thinking pawsitive about everything! It helps soooooo much to have friends sending prayers, too! Thank you, everyone, human, doggie, kitty and hammie, for your kind thoughts. It's always the scariest time waiting to hear the news.

Meanwhile, my mom had volunteered 2 weeks ago to foster a pregnant beagle. This operation came up so fast--just before the beagle was supposed to come here that the rescue had to hold onto her. It was literally either my mom fostering her or they were going to have to spay and take the puppies.

It is a beagle/doxie mix named Ruth. She looks like a long, short beagle. She has had her puppies--3, I think. If my mom keeps feeling well they will bring the family to her today. Yes, it's a little more work but it's a happy thing and what could be happier than playing with puppies?

I don't know about that playing with puppies stuff. They are quite the handful or at least "The Red Ones" are.. Callie with those little shark teeth and Louie playing chase. Those kids just wear me out...

Hey River, We hope your Mum feels better and we are crossing our paws for good test results. Try and be a help to your Mum and take the puppies on a field trip. Well, except they are so little, they will just want to sleep I think. We're thinking of you!

Love, Dozer

Hey River,

Your mum's a really really nice person to take care of the beagle mama and her babies, despite her being ill. She has inevitably saved the lives of the 3 puppies, which will otherwise not existed if their mama was spayed.

I do hope that your mummy will recover real soon, so that her body will not be stretched excessively when the workload increases after the arrival of the puppies.

Sweet Licks,
Sugar

Positive thoughts coming your way for good test results. Keep rubbing River's belly for good luck (not to mention a happy beagle).

Hope to see pictures of Ruth and the pups when you are feeling up to it!

Take care!

Hey River - Do I remember you once mentioning that you guys don't go on walkies? Momma has been saying that because I get so much exercise now with pee-wee that she might not be taking me walkies anymore.

Being home is good and lots of doggie-love will be very healing for your H-Mom. Hopefully the puppies and their mom can stay with you and not be too much work. Do all you beagles behave nicely with visitors? That mom dog might be a bit snippy and protective.

Jake of Florida said...

Thanks River. We'll be fine. Fay may come visit you though when she is through with us!!

Did you see a while back that our human brother, who lives in Tampa, rescued a beagle from a shelter there? Her name is Marcy. A photo is on one of our posts from a few months ago.
