Scorchin' hot Sunday

We stayed up till 3 am reading the Blogathon blog entries. That was so much fun. The Kapp Pack raised a lot of money for MaPaw Siberian Rescue and we won a prize!! We won these rawhide chewies for correctly guessing the answer to a trivia question. Well, Peanut really won but he said they couldn't chew these rawhides because they were too small and I said WE CAN! WE CAN! OUR MOUTHS ARE SMALL!

So we slept in till 1pm! My mom can't believe nobody woke her up howling. But we feel really rested and refreshed. Outside it's HOTHOTHOT today. The sun is back out and the temp is climbing to the high 90s. AC is on today. Sasha cannot stand the heat so we have to think about taking care of her, of course.

The people associated with Double Dog Rescue asked my mom to create a blog page for a beautiful little labradoodle named Clint. This is a fundraising blog. Clint is 6 months old, a sweet, beautiful dog that was born with severe hip dysplasia. The operation is going to be $8-9000 to fix his hips. This is quite daunting but everyone is so in love with him that they want to do everything possible to give him a wonderful life. On our blog we are only going to ask for the money for one hip--which is about $4000. UTK vet school is giving us a discount on the operation. His surgery will be in October. The other hip will be fixed 6 months later. We will raise money for the other hip through other sources. The page isn't ready yet but when it is my mom will have me put a link on my page. My mom asked them to document in pictures everything about his life so we can see the progress and celebrate his successes.
Here is another coonhound my mom fostered. He went to Mutts4Rescue in Portsmouth, RI--he looks a lot like Booker, doesn't he?? My mom loved him and named him Dickens after a little beagle that we lost to parvo (one of Baby's babies, brother to Bitey and Beau). He did have a home but the home broke up--they loved him dearly. He went with the mom but the mom cannot keep up with the active lifestyle he needs so he was returned to the rescue. He is a sweet, gentle, good boy who is house and crate trained so if anybody up there in northeast US would like a coonhound this is your boy!! We totally vouch for him.

So, yeah, this is how we're retiring from rescue. HAHAHAHA NOT!

Our friend, Gus the Beagle, has a new brother! Welcome, OLIVER, to the world wide web of forever homes!!

Here's me. Yes, this is MY blog afterall, Mom !! First, I was chewing on a plastic cup, love those things! and then I climbed up in the freshly washed & dried blankets. There is nothing better than a blanket just out of the dryer!

Such a lot of news. We hope Dickens gets a good home. He sure is handsome.

That's sweet of you to make a blog for Clint's fundraiser. We sure hope the money is raised so he can be helped.

Hi River,

Mum saw your comment on my page and I got in a lot of trouble! BOL! This will teach Mum not to stay on top of my entries! Your Mum rocks and we are glad she still has her job. My Mummy is in the same situation. She's not sure how it is all going to fall out but for the moment as long as we tighten our belts, we should be okay. So she said I cannot be using people all over the country to get more food when I get the exact amount the vet says I should have. But I am still hungry!! I guess Corgis are always hungry.

Love, Dozer

What a handsome coonie, if we say so ourselves! He could be Booker's cousin. We sure hope he finds a good home. It was very hot here this weekend too, so it's not terrible that Booker just had a lazy couple days, laying on the sofa in the air-conditioned condo. A couple blocks walking and his tongue is dragging!

Hehe, fresh clean blankets, we would be straight on those too. We both like to go on clean bedding that has just been changed and then move the pillows around and generally mess the beds up. :-)

Yep that Callie is a holy terror when she isn't on her drugs. Last night Louie and I went in our condo's and she went totally wild running round and round the house.. She even escaped up the stairs. It was hilarious watching Mom run up the stairs after her only to catch her after she ran through the bedroom and was headed back out.. Mom put a stop to it then. She was afraid she would re-injure her let..

River,
Your mum has a lot on her plate at the moment. Poor Clint, he looks soooo sweet. We really feel for him especially me having hip problems too. Good luck with it all.

Hi River,

Thanks for the shout out for me and my little brother Oliver. Yep, it looks like he's not going anywhere, so I can call him a brother now. (Although he's sometimes more of a BOTHER than a BROTHER, but we'll get that all worked out!)

Woof, I'm beat.

Hi River,

Your mom is very-very sweet, and the dog-world is richer because of her.

You are looking comfy on those fresh blankets...sniffffff! Hmmmm! They smell soooo gooood!

Thanks for the vote (the thanks is from THEM)... In fact, I came back to my senses a couple of hours after I made that post...and all your comments made me feel ashamed of my impulsive behavior (blush!)

You need to take care with those crazy people shooting in your neck of the woods. How far are you from Knoxville any?

Blankets out of the dryer rule! The only problem is that Dad gets mad and says it's for him. Humans. Why do they put it on the floor, then? Huh?

We'll be sending your treats soon! Thanks again for supporting us!

Your mom is really a big helper. What would all those doggies do without her. I like fresh clean stuff to sleep on. Sometimes I have to pull it out of the basket.
